cold side of the pillow
We have all been there... it's the middle of the night and it's just a little too warm. Now we all know what our first course of action is to remedy this situation.
Turn the pillow over to the cold side.
It is one of those minuscule, simple things that just seem to change everything.
When you flip over the pillow and find that the other side is indeed cooler, everything if even for a few minutes is good in the world.
And yes, if you are wondering, this did happen to me last night.
That one tiny action brings relief that in that moment seems like the biggest discovery in modern medicine.
What is it about a few minutes of pure relief within a stressful situation that makes your life just a tiny bit better?
The thing that I am starting to realize is that there are many cold sides to the pillow of life.
( and yes that is extremely corny)
Sometimes it can be a friend shooting a quick text message asking how your day is doing.
or maybe it is having lunch with someone you haven't seen in long time.
it could be listening to your favorite song, or treating yourself to some ice cream.
The point is, there are many small things that seem unimportant but in the right context can really turn your day around, or bring you unparalleled relief.
We all need to be aware of the small things in life that can help us along in times of need.
Find the cold side of the pillow in your life.
and when you do, take hold of it... even if it only lasts a few minutes, and enjoy the relief it brings.

Days. Like. This.
There are some days where things just seem, well... perfect.
It's hard to describe the actual feeling, or even what is making it feel so good.
I do know that on days like these, nothing else matters in the world except for your own desires and contentment.
The weather is perfect
Everyone you talk to is in a good mood, and most certainly no one is mad at you.
It is the realization that amid this crazy world you are calm, and more importantly, happy.
Days like this bring you closer to God.
Now you may not be a Christian, but whatever beliefs you adhere to, days like this affirm your beliefs that maybe just for one singular moment, someone is watching after you.
It's almost as if you are invincible.. not in the sense that you go and try to be a superhero, but that you feel as if nothing can bring you down.
Days like this.
You get the perfect amount of sleep after a fun night out.
You wake up and eat a meal that is healthy, delicious, and most importantly for a college student... cheap.
The weather is a heavenly 78 degrees with a few clouds in the air.
Go to the pool, wear a tanktop, embrace the perfect summer atmosphere.
You see friends that have meaning in your life and you enjoy spending time with them
ON DAYS LIKE THIS
You know its one of those days when your first physical response is to smile.
Smiles can save a man from even the most shitty of situations.
Happiness is monumental
It's Days. Like. This.
we live to love
... and most importantly, Love to Live

thoughts
I was honestly about to write an apology for not keeping up with my blog. This brought an interesting thought to my mind. I have only written 4 blogs thus far and none of them have reall been of any importance.
-only a handful of people have even read them, yet i felt inclined to say im sorry for the absence in posts. its funny that i thought it was warranted, almost as if i thought all the things i said were really that important, or than people depended on me to show them how funny i think hipsters are.
-does anybody else think its weird how addicted to facebook we are. it has literally become a problem that people choose to give it up for lent. nevermind giving up drinking or fatty foods. but we realize facebook is a problem so much that we use our religious practices to relieve us from it... it's as if only God can free us from status updates. Also picture how weird facebook would be if it was all done with human interaction. everyone of your friends would be knocking on your door daily telliing you what they did, with who, and show a couple pictures to prove it. The internet has created a disconnect with real life that i don't think can ever be changed.
I will be labled with the utmost hypocrtical irony when i post this on my facebook.
